#345 Changing Excel’s Default Chart Type

The default chart type in Excel is a clustered column chart. If the majority of the charts you create are a different type you can save some time by changing the default chart type to the one you use the most.

Here is how you can do that in Excel 2010:

1 From the Insert tab, click the See All Charts button, at the bottom right of the Charts group.

2. Select the type of chart you want and click the Set as Default Chart button.

Now anytime you need a new chart you will start with the one you use most often.
