#406 Save Multiple Tabs Without A Browser Addin

BrowserTabs

If you’re like me you often find yourself with somewhere close to a bazillion browser tabs open all at once.  And having all those tabs open can noticeably take up your system resources. If you use Chrome as your web browser you can grab a  super handy browser addin called OneTab.

Whenever you find yourself with too many tabs, click the OneTab icon to convert all of your tabs into a list. When you need to access the tabs again, you can either restore them individually or all at once.

When your tabs are in the OneTab list instead of each on their own separate tab, you can save up to 95% of memory by drasctically reducing the number of tabs you have open — but not losing track of any of those sites.

Just like having too many tabs open can slow you down, so can having too many browser addins. So here is a quick & easy way to save save and restore a group of tabs without needing to install anything extra.

Saving a Group of Browser Tabs

1. Create a new bookmark folder.  Right-click on the bookmarks bar, select ‘Add Folder…‘ and give it a name like Saved Tabs or whatever works best for you..

2. The next time you want to save a set of open tabs you can right-click on the tab bar and select ‘Bookmark All Tabs’

3.  You’ll get a dialog box where you can name this group of tabs. You might want to include a date, the topic or something describing the tabs so you’ll remember what they are for.  Once you’ve named them you can choose a folder to save them in.

The cool thing about this is that will sync with your Chrome account so that the set of tabs you save on one device can be restored on another.

When you want to bring all those tabs back and continue working with them, just right-click on the folder where you saved your tabs and select ‘Open All Bookmarks‘  or ‘Open All Bookmarks in New Window‘ and BOOM there they are! All your tabs spring back to life.

You can use this handy tabs saving trick in both Chrome and Firefox.
